Overall rating: 5.6/10

My mom and I were looking around Westgate for a place for dinner and we came across this restaurant where they were giving out flyers. After some tough consideration, we decided to give it a try as Chicken Tenshin Han looks interesting.

The service was not excellent, but good enough. The service staffs are hard-working and they tried their best to satisfy their customers. We came to the restaurant at the peak hour when people came flooding therefore their service level was brought to the test. However, their service level wasn't that fantastic afterall, as they could not handle the crowd. For instance, they forgot what drinks we ordered, forgot our gyoza, and brought someone else's dish to our table.

I am a fan of Japanese food and the food are one of the not-so-good ones I have ever tasted. I do not find that the food is justified for the price we paid. For a set and 2 alarcarte dishes, we paid for over SGD$30, however, I found that the food standard is not on par with any Japanese restaurants. Chicken Tenshin Han was a disappointment. Chicken Tenshin Han is a rice dish which has a layer of egg on top of the chicken meat and rice. Some sauce is poured onto them to add taste to the dish. The texture of the egg was fluffy as they advertised. However, the sauce was so salty that it overrides the taste of the egg. It felt boring after finishing less than half the bowl and we find it difficult to finish the food due to the overwhelming salty taste.

I think the best food over there was their famous Gyoza. The skin was sufficiently thick/thin, fried just nice and the meat inside has a rich taste of pork and vegetable. We also had soft shell crab and fried chicken. Both of which I do not think they are worth your money. They tasted just like those you can find anywhere, in hawker centres, coffee shops or kopitiam. Sorry if this sound slightly rude.

Beneath the tables were ipads for order your food and menu which is actually laminated paper. Using the ipad for orders can be a good way to save time and manpower. It is also a way to help in prevent wrong orders. The food did arrived timely after the order was sent across the internet. The ambience was not bad as the chairs are quite comfortable and the lightening was bright and delightful. The atmosphere was friendly as the service staff remained calm despite of the crowd.

I hope that I can give a good rating to this restaurant, however, their food left a not-so-good impression to us. After eating them, we felt constantly thirsty. All in all, this restaurant is not worth your money unless you love gyoza, which in my opinion, their gyozas are only slightly better than those you can find elsewhere.

Challenger. Valore.

Challenger has an on-going promotion for members till 31th December! Headed to Challenger with my parent yesterday to get me a new powerbank, but to my surprise, there was a promotion for members to renew their membership. You just have to renew your membership for $30 and you can get the special price for any Valore power banks. This is only for Valore power bank and each power bank model can only be purchased once with each membership. I got two powerbanks and (above) this is the 5000mAh powerbank( VL-PB300). This model is the second generation pebble model; it looks translucent whereas the old model has a solid coat. The power bank displays how much energy you have left in your powerbank. Another thing worth mentioning about this power bank is that it is quite light (113g). My old one which my dad bought for me is so heavy that I felt that I do not want to carry in my bag ever again. The old power bank just died due to the cable fault. I gave it up totally and decided to get a new one.

Something I do not like about this purchase is that it does not comes with the new iphone cable. you have to purchase it separately. The other powerbank (model VL-PB101, 2000mAh) costed me $7.90. I do not recommend buying it as it does not come along with any cables. I find it ridiculous. How are you going to use a powerbank without cables? I have come to the conclusion that they are selling cheaply so that you have to buy the cables from their shop.

Are you thinking of what to buy for Christmas? Why not get a power bank at a special price for your loved ones? It does not burn your pocket too much, at the same time, it makes your loved ones happy :D

It is worth a trip to Challenger now I say. Do check out the promotion details.

*I am not associated with Challenger in any way (except that my parent is a Challenger member). Sharing is caring. I am sharing this special offer for everyone to save their monies if they need a power bank for themselves or their loved one. Especially those people with Samsung android phones which have ridiculously low battery life. I will definitely switch back to Iphone if I got the chance to.
